Description KBR is hiring a Telecommunications Engineer in Reston, VA.
The Engineer is responsible for one or more aspects of the design, planning, coordination, development, testing, integration, deconfliction, and deployment of secure telecommunication systems and support.
Responsibilities:
Work with the customer to design, develop, test, integrate, and operationalize customized secure telephony systems.
Customize solutions for stand-alone and integrated telecommunication architectures supporting sensitive developmental technical capabilities.
Develop telecommunication solutions solving critical special communications capability gaps and emerging operational requirements.
Evaluate current and future requirements for integration into operational users' Concept of Operations (CONOPs).
Coordinate and deconflict the use of sensitive technology within the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Master of Science Degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years' experience.
Highly Desired Qualifications/Knowledge:
VOIP (Voice Over IP), including technologies like Asterisk, FreeSwitch, FreePBX and WebRTC.
Linux server operating systems Network routing and switching protocols and equipment (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Cisco, Juniper, etc.
) Network security (VPN, SSL/TLS, firewalls, intrusion detection, packet capture analysis, etc.
)Travel:
OCONUS travel may be required.
(10%) Security Requirements:
Active TS/SCI security clearance w/CI Poly.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
