Network Engineer will provide information technology support throughout the entire program.
And will be responsible for ensuring all program activities are implemented in a timely manner and will report activities as required.
Under the supervisor of the Director - Information Technology, the Senior Network Engineer provides network support.
In conjunction with the Director, the Senior Network Engineer Specialist analyzes requirements to plan systems that will provide the capabilities required for projected workloads.
The Sr.
Network Engineer serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of Acuity networks and assists with the planning of various layouts and installations of new systems or equipment.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.
Responsibilities Responsible for designing, installing, supporting and maintaining network services and infrastructure.
Responsible for network performance, solving technical issues, updating job knowledge, ensuring network security, managing firewall changes, and providing service desk support for escalations.
This position will work within Information Technology (IT), collaborate with Information Security, Facilities, other departments, and vendors to plan, design, implement and oversee all network services including virtual private networking (VPN), firewalls, Internet circuits, wireless, network routing and switching.
Manage, maintain, and monitor network infrastructure such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, Internet circuits, server rooms and network.
Configure Palo Alto firewalls and manage via Panorama.
Ensure network security by upgrading firmware and software on network devices and firewalls, as well as by making configuration changes per security best practices and Information Security guidance.
Troubleshoot routing and switching in a multi-site environment, as well as network connectivity with cloud environments such as Azure.
Document the design, operation, and troubleshooting of network platforms and procedures.
Provide specific, detailed recommendations for Cisco network related hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Monitor IT Infrastructure service performance including network availability, reliability, quality, and capacity, such as CheckMK, Solarwinds Backup.
Ability to configure and integrate networking related infrastructure associated with VMware, ESXi hosts, and connected storage.
Provide 24/7 support of LAN, WAN and WLAN for all Acuity services.
Configure, test, and deploy network Cisco branded devices to include routers, switches, wireless access points.
Monitor network performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Implement and maintain network monitoring tools and ensure network availability.
Conduct regular security audits and implement best practices to maintain network security.
Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to network incidents and outages.

Job Requirements Must be a U.
S.
citizen Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in network engineering.
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and VPNs.
Strong Knowledge Experience with Cisco Nexus 5k and 9k series.
Strong Knowledge with Palo Alto Panorama, Palo Alto Firewalls and ASA Cisco Firewalls.
Configuring ISE and security Polices, including 802.
1x process.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure and security (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred.
