Position Overview
M&T Bank proudly offers a comprehensive Sales Development Training Program (SDP) for bright individuals looking to launch a sales career in financial services. This 6-month program is designed to help you to become a Relationship Banker II within M&T Bank's retail branch network. Training is focused on developing advanced selling skills, improving communication, and learning relationship management techniques. You will also study to obtain licensure to sell insurance products and must adhere to the requirements of federal registration under the SAFE Act.
This program begins annually in June. This position will be based at a branch within the region where posted. The exact location will be determined upon completion of the program.
The SDP program will encompass a combination of structured classroom sessions, web-based, and on-the-job practical training. During training, you will learn how to manage a portfolio of customers and key aspects of the relationship life-cycle. You will have ongoing support, mentoring and coaching as well as access to retail leadership and SDP alumni to ensure the integration of learned skills as well as assimilation into M&T's culture.
Participation in the Sales Development Program can provide the basis for a successful future at M&T. Alumni of this respected program have developed unique career paths in several areas of the bank including Commercial Banking Sales, Branch Management, Marketing, Trust, and Training & Development.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor's Degree level of education or higher
Minimum of 1 year in retail sales, call center, customer service, or telesales position
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
Well organized with excellent time management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel using tact and diplomacy
Ability to travel overnight for up to one week at a time, three times during the six month training period
Ideal Qualifications
Experience working in the Financial Services industry in a customer service or sales related role
Bi-Lingual, Spanish language proficiency preferred
Strong working knowledge of financial services products

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
