Manager, Automation Tools vRealize
Prestigious Financial Services Organization is seeking a Manager of Automation Tools (vRealize).
Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage and execute automation strategies; operate with a sense of urgency to deliver automation solution on time by working with Architecture and other organizations.
- Partner with Operations, Architecture, Engineering and Security groups to ensure cohesive execution of automation strategies and communications consistent with vison.
- Lead and manage Automation team organization Day-to-day management of automation engineers and Matrix team members.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and get consensus for technical solutions.
- Understands automation engineering best practices and coaches team to effectively apply them
- Reviews technology stack in use by project teams and reviews for fit with automated tools in use
- Engages with architects, development managers and leads and other leaders to update automated tooling and practices
- Uses a combination of internal and external resources to keep team abreast of the technologies selected for automation
- Applies metrics to monitor performance of teams in automation practices, and pushes for demonstrable continuous improvement
- Oversees release planning and readiness efforts in order to ensure that project teams can meet commitments, reduce release risk, and deliver on time
Qualifications
- Typically has 8-10 years related experience and 2
years management experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience
- Ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders and organizations to execute strategy
- Excellent Knowledge of vRealize Automation Familiar with overseeing agile development of automated solutions and applications
- Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and get things done
- Technical competence in vRealize Automation, BladeLogic, Java and puppet which supports Automated solutions.
- Familiar with Cloud technologies such as vcloud air, Azure and AWS
- Able to drive code reviews and improvements in automation code across technology stack
- Strong adherent to Agile principles in letter as well as in spirit.
Knows and follows Agile convention, but importantly internalizes and evangelizes the Agile spirit - Strong communicator - able to work closely with counterparts to understand product needs and select the right people and technologies to create and maintain automated tests
- Understands the importance of metrics in the modern software organization and supports the automated generation of such metrics as an outcome of normal work.
Observes patterns in the metrics and takes appropriate action - Can enforce process and best practices to team members as well as teams that engage creating automated solutions.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
