Senior VMware Systems Engineer
Prestigious Enterprise Organization is seeking a Senior VMware Systems Engineer to help streamline the environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
- 5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis using VMWARE
- Experience implementing and support VMware ESXi 5.
x or 6.
x - Experience implementing and supporting VMware vCenter and SRM
- Experience implementing and supporting VMware Update Manager
- Experience implementing Monitoring using VROPS and plan for capacity Preferred Skills
- Graduate degree or advanced studies
- VCP Datacenter certification in 5.
x or 6.
x - Experience supporting HP c 7000 blade systems
- Knowledge of one or more enterprise class storage arrays include RAID configuration, Fibre Channel zoning, and iSCSI implementation
- Experience automating VMware tasks using PowerCLI
- Experience implementing and supporting vROPS
- Experience implementing and supporting enterprise disaster recovery solutions in a virtual environment
- Experience with Storage systems and Multi pathing
Responsibilities:
- Perform system administration and management duties for all virtual infrastructure systems and supporting physical infrastructure in primary and DR sites.
- Install, configure and manage HP blade series/standalone hardware including upgrading firmware/configuring OA and setting up system profiles
- Monitor, administer and maintain vCenter modules and configurations Support implementation, configuration and operations and maintenance of VMware components to include SRM, VRA and VDI
- Implement patches and upgrades to ensure VM environment in compliance with CIS recommendations
- Maintain responsibility for virtualization storage management of data stores and pools
- Optimize, automate and troubleshoot a Virtual Environment using PowerCLI
- Participate in rotational System Administration On Call support roster
- Understand the snapshots and clones and making sure that Tape backups using TSM is running as required
- Work with Engineering and Architecture teams on new products/strategies and recommend solutions
- Maintain basic understanding of Storage systems and connectivity
- Analyze and execute VMware performance tuning strategies
- Support daily monitoring and optimization of VM Servers and hosts
- Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and make recommendations to management and/or clients
- Develop documentation on new or existing systems

.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
