Systems Engineer

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in the Reston, VA area to provide unparalleled support to our internal organization and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech. The selected individual will be responsible for system engineering and system administration of a multi-platform, highly-available virtualized computing environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide system engineering technical expertise through the project lifecycle including design, engineering, configuration, test planning/development, test execution/analysis, performance optimization and training
Establish and execute processes and procedures for managing system definition, development, and operations
Establish and execute standards for assuring quality in systems engineering
Provide technical assessments and recommendations in the form of written and oral presentations
Position Requirements:
Advanced experience with hypervisor based virtualization technologies such as VMWare ESXi,Hyper-V, or Xen is required.
Experience with the VMWare 5.x product suite including the use of vMotion, Storage vMotion, and vSphere
Distributed Switch implementations is preferred
Advanced experience with the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows 2008 R2 I 2012 R2 environments is required
Advanced knowledge of information security engineering principles and prior experience applying them to systems (both Windows and Linux systems) and workstations a must
Experience performing security hardening of Windows and Linux operating systems
Experience with US Government security accreditation models such as NIST 800-53 or ICD 503
Experience with enterprise storage systems (EMC, NetApp, Hitachi,etc.) and storage area networks (Fibre Channel or iSCSI) a must; prior experience with NetApp is preferred
Experience with the design, implementation, and maintenance of Active Directory is required including prior GPO and LDAP experience
Experience with the design, implementation, and maintenance of Linux environments is required
Experience with system monitoring tools for:
o Virtualization management (e.g.,vSphere vRealize, vSphere vCOPS)
o Storage management (e.g., NetApp System Manager, EMC VNX)
o Network management (e.g.,SolarWinds, Nagios, splunk)
o Vendor Platform Management (e.g., HP Onboard Administrator, HP Insight Manager)
Foundational knowledge of network engineering concepts and protocols a must; the candidate should understand at a minimum TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SFTP
Knowledge of data center power and cooling management principles
Visio and PowerPoint skills are required
Experience with virtualized network environments using VLAN trunks between virtualization servers is desired
Familiarity with HP and Dell hardware, troubleshooting, and parts replacement a plus
Bachelor's degree and 10-12 years of experience or additional experience in lieu of degree
Security Requirements:
An active TS/SCI with favorable polygraph is required.
Qualifications Requires Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) or equivalent, and ten to twelve years of related experience.
