As a Technical Editor within the Office of Communications and Publishing, some of your specific duties will include:
Reviewing, electronically editing, and revising scientific and technical reports for publication. Correcting bibliographic citations and their references as well as reviewing illustrations for clarity, internal consistency, and conformance to publication standards. Suggesting changes and rewriting or reorganizing sections of manuscripts to make the presentation of ideas logical, the expression clear and concise, and the presentation of the data consistent with style and accepted scientific practice. Marking manuscripts for format and style; reading or scanning galley/page proofs for errors in typography, mark-up, word breakage, and adherence to copy. Working as part of a team with other PSC staff members and scientists to collaborate on preparation of scientific manuscripts for review and publication. Serving as a liaison between authors and other PSC staff. Eligibility Requirements In order to be eligible for an appointment under the Pathways Recent Graduate Program you must meet the following requirements:
You must be a recent graduate who has completed, within the previous two years, an associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution such as an accredited technical or vocational school; a 2- or 4-year college or university; a graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school); or a post-secondary home school curriculum. Note:
Certificate program is defined as post-secondary education in a qualifying educational institution equal to at least one academic year of full-time study that's part of an accredited college-level, technical, trade, vocational, or business school curriculum. Veterans who were precluded from applying due to their military service obligation begin their 2-year eligibility period upon release or discharge from active duty; however, eligibility for these veterans cannot exceed 6 years from the date on which the degree or certificate was obtained. The date of release or discharge from active duty should be later than the date the degree or certificate was obtained. Qualification Requirements GS-07:
All applicants must meet at least one of the following to qualify for the GS-07 level:
A. One year of appropriate specialized experience that is equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes Acquiring technical information through independent reading, interviewing with subject-matter specialists, observation of tests and experiments, interpretation of blueprints or diagrams and present this information in a manner easily understood by the intended audience. Composing pamphlets, brochures, training and operating manuals, prepared by subject matter experts; review the material for clarity and for consistency with policy and style requirements.; OR B. Superior Academic Achievement based on undergraduate study. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
