Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist

As an Equal Employment Specialist within the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity some of your specific duties will include:
Process complaints in accordance with applicable Federal regulations, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all other laws and statutes relevant to equal employment opportunity and civil rights. Receives, acknowledges, and reviews equal employment opportunity (EEO) discrimination complaints for coverage under 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1614. Reviews investigative plans and sufficiency summaries prepared in support of Reports of Investigations for thoroughness, impartiality and completeness of records. Prepares necessary memoranda or letters for signature of the Bureau EEO Officer, the Director or designee for appointing investigators, transmitting files to assigned investigators, requesting relevant documents. Develops drafts any necessary memoranda or letters for signature of the Bureau EEO Officer, the Director or designee in response to correspondence from complainants, their representatives, managers, Members of Congress, Office of the Solicitor (SOL), Office of Civil Rights (OCR), on matters pertaining to complaint cases and/or the complaint system, to include but not limited to transmittal of files and records. Develops and assists in the preparation of any necessary reports including, but not limited, EEOC Form 462 and No-FEAR Act reports. Develops and assists EEO related training programs/presentations. Makes recommendations to the supervisor for technical improvements for the adjudication and disposition of complaints processes and EEO and personnel policies, procedures, regulations, and other matters. Plans and conducts special Agency EEO projects, and/or task forces. Makes recommendations to the supervisor for proactive preventive mechanisms. For GS-09:
Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-9 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-7 level work include:
conducting routine fact finding; assisting in analysis of data collected; researching and interpreting EEO regulations and policies; and preparing for special emphasis programs. OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education or mater's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B or J.D). (36 semester hours, 54 quarter hours, or the equivalent). OR a combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the first year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements. Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-11 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-9 level work include:
providing advice to management on preparation/monitoring of affirmative action plans; making recommendations based on workforce analysis, organizational structure and employee utilization by age, race, sex, religion, national origin, handicapping condition, and/or other basis; counseling, interviewing, and researching to resolve allegations of discrimination; and conducting training. OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.M, if related). OR a combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the second year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
